Chef-patron Tim Austin is marrying the comfort and heartiness of Nonna-style Italian dishes with modern technique and creativity. Using a core of local ingredients he’s developed a generous menu with intense flavours and richness, from antipasto through to dolce. Gnocchi hits centre stage.
With a chef/sommelier as host you can expect good drinking options to accompany the food experience. The wine list includes Italian varieties, hand-picked local wine heroes and tasty beers.
The La Bonta inspiration? It’s the famed generosity and warmth of Italian hospitality that inspired Tim and his wife Janet to open their own restaurant, recognising that a genuine welcome and friendly service can transform a great meal into a fantastic experience.
Nostalgic for eating experiences in Italy, tapping into Tim’s formal training and making best use of central Victoria’s wine and produce pointed the restaurateurs in the direction of a modern Italian menu.
